New Delhi: India's accomplished left-hander Devdutt Padikkal has issued a word of caution to aspiring cricketers attempting to emulate teenage phenomenon Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, describing such efforts as "foolish" given the Bihar batsman's exceptional skillset.
Padikkal, who has represented India across formats, showered praise on Sooryavanshi after the youngster's blistering 93 off just 38 deliveries propelled him into the record books. The 13-year-old became the youngest cricketer to accumulate over 500 runs in a single T20 season, eclipsing a benchmark previously held by Padikkal himself.
